Autism Education - Overview

The Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support is a center of learning for undergraduates, graduates and professionals. 1 in 110 children has an autism spectrum disorder and 1 in 70 boys has autism. Other large-scale studies identified autism rates of 1 in 91 children and 1 in 58 boys in the United States (CDC website, 2009). As the need for autism treatment and education continues to rise in response to these increasing numbers, the need for well-trained therapists, teachers, healthcare providers, policy makers and advocates is critical.

To meet this critical need for autism services, Saint Joseph's University offers: a Minor in Autism Studies, a Certificate in Autism Studies, a Concentration in Autism Studies in the Professional and Liberal Studies degree program, and Graduate Programs in Behavior Analysis and Special Education.
